3 Things to do to get the Scale Moving Down – The 2nd thing…

In the last post we talked about cutting out snacking to help keep our insulin levels low so that our bodies could access the fat we already have stored for fuel.
Today we are going to discuss extending our overnight fast.
Did you know that Everyone fasts Every Day?  We do, every night when we go to sleep, our bodies go into a fasting mode.  That is why it is important to stop eating 3-4 hours before you go to sleep so your body can get the full restorative benefits of a good night’s sleep.
The second thing…

Don’t Eat Breakfast right away
Do you know who coined the term “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day”?  Breakfast Food Companies!!
The word Breakfast means to Break your Fast.  ‘What Fast?’ you ask, ‘I don’t Fast’.  Not true, everyone fasts every night when they are sleeping.
By skipping Breakfast, or postponing it,  you are allowing your Insulin levels to remain low for a longer period of time which allows your body to access its stored fat for fuel.
When you do have your 1st meal of the day make sure it is high in protein with veggies and some fat, and low in carbohydrates.
So instead if a Mocha Latte and a bagel, have some eggs scrambled with spinach with or some apple slices & peanut butter.  This will not only keep your Insulin levels in check, but it will also help you have more energy throughout the day.

So give it a try and see what happens.

You can have coffee in the morning with some heavy cream, but no sugar & none of those sweet fancy creamers – just heavy cream, half & half or no cream at all.  Coffee with heavy cream will not break your fast.

So enjoy your coffee and don’t have your 1st meal until 10:30 or 11am and see how you do.  It may take a few days to get used to this new routine but you will see the reward on the scale.
